Senior Development Manager
Industrial Lands Authority/Regional

The Industrial Lands Authority/Regional Division within DevelopmentWA fulfills the important role to remove barriers to investment and facilitate innovation, economic diversification and jobs growth in Industrial and Regional areas across Western Australia.

Role Summary:

 

The Industrial lands Authority/Regional division has a newly created opportunity available for an experienced property professional to lead the planning and delivery of significant development projects for Western Australia.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

In this pivotal leadership role, you will operate at the intersection of government, industry and community, taking carriage of significant development initiatives that shape places and deliver lasting economic, social and environmental value for Western Australia.

 

You will bring together strategic thinking, strong commercial acumen and collaborative leadership to guide projects from early concept through to delivery. Working closely with internal teams, consultants and stakeholders, you will navigate complexity, respond to changing priorities and ensure projects are delivered to high standards of quality, governance and sustainability.

 

We are looking for someone who is motivated by purpose‑driven development, enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams, and is committed to delivering outcomes on significant projects for Western Australia.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Manage complex business cases and implementation plans to meet business objectives.
  • Respond to changes in government policy while understanding corporate challenges and priorities to meet objectives and deliver outcomes.
  • Work across the organisation in order to achieve business plan outcomes.
  • Integrate changing market/customer conditions into project planning and implementation and respond pro-actively to manage a diversity of project deliverables through the project life-cycle.
  • Lead or manage a team(s) to develop, deliver and maintain project vision and scope and achieve outcomes.
  • Manage cost planning and expenditure within budgets and procedures and continually evaluate opportunities, risks and priorities to anticipate issues and generate project solutions as well as alternate project and stakeholder strategies.
  • Effectively integrate consultant disciplines.
  • Effectively use systems and information to manage complex projects to time, cost and quality targets and balance outcomes including commercial, design and sustainability initiatives.

 

About you:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in land or property development project management roles.
  • Proven ability to scope project requirements and develop and present viable project business cases to senior management and deliver on financial management, sales and communications strategy and delivery of project management milestones.
  • A strong focus on communication style, leadership and the ability to negotiate particularly in building relationships with numerous stakeholders from a range of industry and public/private sector backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop/support teams.
  • Ability to work within existing policies, systems and processes to ensure corporate governance
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • The ability to complete land assembly tasks including native title negotiations and planning frameworks, feasibility assessments, cash flows and risk analysis.
